From the dining area you can fold back big doors on a sunny day to reveal the private terrace for enjoying alfresco meals and head up steps to an enclosed roof garden where you can stretch out on loungers and listen to the sea. To enjoy the beach, you only need to wander out in wetsuits and flip-flops and you will find yourself on the big sandy Blue Flag beach where you can paddle, build sandcastles and surf or bodyboard. For surfing tuition or hire, the popular surf school at Bigbury-on-Sea is just over the little headland. If you don't feel like cooking, you can buy fish and chips in the summer from the café or a trip to nearby Ringmore is worthwhile for an excellent meal or a pint of real ale in its friendly, characterful pub.
